IPS officer, too, unhappy over Pay Panel recommendations

While the UPA government was hoping to please its government servants by putting seal on the Sixth Pay Commission hyped as ‘bonanza for babus’ it is now facing criticism from the very same employees. The officers of Indian Police Service (IPS) have now joined employees of Trades Unions and Army to criticise the recommendation.

The proposed 40 percent hike at the higher level has faded now and exposed the minute benefits for the service class. The employees are now felt cheated.

The recommendations now turned into a controversial issue once again met its ill-fate when different police officer’s association comprising Intelligence Bureau director P C Haldar, heads of CRPF and CISF and police chiefs of Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir met Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday for requesting them to take the matter into account.

They tried to fetch attention of these ministers over the anomalies in the pay scale of IPS and the disparity between proposed pay package for IPS officers and their counterparts IAS officers.

Couple of points:

1. Why did the IB chief and some other senior I.P.S officers go to 10 Janpath? Do we see the army chief going to 10 janpath for shortage of B.P jackets, rifles, etc for his Jawans?
2. Under what convention did they approach someone who has not even taken the oath of government/Secrecy?
3. Look at the listing of names; first Madam - of course, second her favourite Lavani fellow and only third our honest P.M "Mr. Singhhh is Kinggg fame".

Couple of points on this one too:

1. Please read this article

http://www.mailtoday.in/epapermain.aspx

Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi called on Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday to diffuse a political crisis that has been getting worse by the day.

Last Saturday, finance minister P. Chidambaram had criticised the state government, prompting the chief minister the next day to dare the Centre to sack him. On Monday, the Intelligence Bureau director PC Haldar, was rushed in to appease the CM.

So Mr. D.I.B is not on a courtsey call to the DMK chief but on being a dalal of the government. His priority should have been to stop the spread of muslim terrorist groups in Coimbatore, Thirunalveli, Chennai, etc but rather than discussing that with the chief Minister, he is rushing to save a political party government - so overtly. Another budding governor in our midst.

2. Have a look at the waist line of our D.I.B, he looks to be one who will take on the terrorist not going around the country, visiting his men in the toughest possible fields but rather sitting in his plush chair and providing power point presentations to his master. By the way, another feather to his rugged physique; he is also Chairman of the All India Police Sports Board.
Halder sahib needs to see some of the frontline army generals of even the Indian Army and how they are made to slog by a system that as a junior officer put it " I think there is never a rest period for any rank till the time you wear your uniform".
